The current system makes sense to me. The two versions of the item are exactly the same except that the non-rare/ex version can be traded to your alt or sold, so its only advantages are convenience and financial benefit. The rare/ex version can be obtained with persistence, while the non version requires persistence AND competition. Shouldn't the better item be harder to get?

Yeah it makes more sense to me to have it the way it is. Bcnms are like little mini dungeons or instances just for you and your group. It makes sense to have the item drop be just for you. Plus the bcnms are easier to do and the tradable version is the more coveted item so you should have to work harder for it.

I agree with the way it is also. Plus i'll add if you change the drops from NMs to R/ex, the NM hunters will move on to other farming locations which can already get crowded.

The fact you say someone lvl75 is controlling the spawns shows you don’t know what you are talking about. All you need is THF45/BST20 to do most of these NMs you’re alluding to. Aioko who gets a lot of the VE claims/drops only has a THF60 as his highest level job! If he can do it, you can EVENTUALLY do it too if you get good.

Also, ffxi is an MMO! MAKE FRIENDS. Bring a group to camp and your chances will increase drastically simply with have more eyes and bodies for it to potentially spawn on top of one of your members.

Many of these guys have spent hundreds of hours over the past couple months campings these NMs, LEARNING their timers, spawn positions and optimizing his tracking of placeholders. If it comes down to having to Flee, you’re not going to get it.

What makes you think you deserve to claim a mob you havent put in the time to learn?!?! Do you even know how many placeholders VE has? Their respawn?

VE is just one popular example, but there are hundreds of NMs and methods of making money. There are ways for a LEVEL ONE character to make more money than someone that camps VE strictly.

Level75 is not power in this game, KNOWLEDGE is power.. go get yourself some knowldge, educate yourself. Because in a few months when you do, you’ll be rollig your eyes at the next new player that makes this same exact post you just made.
