This was a fun read. I came across this while searching for info regarding Argus on this server and anyone who has met me on here knows I'm an asshole who likes to throw his opinion out there from time to time even if its about a 9 month old topic. This all seemed to start about a month before i learned about the server and began playing so for anyone concerned with how it would affect new players, I'm doing just fine. I have all that I could need on this server in terms of immediate desire. There will always be long term things that aren't in sight quite yet. That's the beauty of this game.
This is an action that is always going to happen by the few elite people on a server who have an incredible amount of RL time to become kings of this game. It is a move that will always be questioned by haters who can't figure out how to make gil. The fact that he helped to program a lot of the server was used to argue against him when it seems more like it should be the opposite. He clearly wants to make this server the very best thing that it can be for himself. And while I don't think he cares that much about how much fun we all have with it, the result is the same. We get to reap the rewards of a functional private server. I'm sure certain people are rolling their eyes now because many times I have jumped in the chat to express my frustration with the nature of the server where things can slip out of your control very fast leaving you feeling powerless and immature enough to yell at the abyss of the internet. But I digress. It seems to have worked out quite well for DW especially since lately I've seen a decent influx of new players, which will result in a lot more customers very soon. That is good for all of us. What he actually plans on doing with all this gil besides take a screen shot when he reaches 999,999,999 is beyond me but it isn't my business or my concern. In conclusion to that, quit your bitchin. Craft, farm, do what you gotta do. It really isn't that hard once you give yourself a strong baseline.
Now my real question, the reason I came across this thread, is with Argus. Had an alt there for a little while and caught a ToD so I left him there some more. Have gotten pretty lucky to catch pops and have gone 0/2 on Argus so far with a 3rd pop where the zone crashed as I claimed him. Came back and he was gone, assumed that was a depop. Hence one of the times earlier that I jumped in the chat to yell at the abyss. So it has been 8 times now that I had a 100% ToD and caught the next pop. The window was 18-30 hours on retail and still says that on wiki but I have not seen it pop once yet before 24 hours later. So since his window was messed up I wonder if maybe it wasn't reinstated as the ridiculous 12 hour window but a more reasonable 6 hour one. From what I've seen it might be 24-30 instead of 18-30. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it.
