Build TP and then only move out to optimal range for WS or for Barrage etc? The distance for what used to be 100% damage isn't very small. You just can't melee and get full damage anymore, and this was especially important when nas found a bug with weapon delay that would have caused RNGs to build a ton more TP from meleeing.

It seems that throwing away items makes chat messages disappear. Example, I throw away a rusty greatsword. I cannot see my fishing messages. I cannot see the logout messages. I cannot see what fish other people catch.

SE made RNG weaker across the board to nerf the job unless you were in very specific conditions.

Nas both rewards and penalizes you based on similar criteria. Not just penalizes. That's a significant difference because it impacts the range of ranges significantly that allow RNG to do great damage.

Except how is that going to work when I have to worry about Gates of Hades spam? My Annihilator means I should have 0 issues with threat and yet I still have to worry about TP moves that should be a complete non-issue. Part of the allure of RNG to me, both on retail and here, is standing at max range(24.9) and unleashing all hell on the target. Guess I have to run right next to the mobs now if the range is anything like retail.

And straight nerfs any kite fight or fight that means you can't get into "optimal range".

Same goes for the "RNG nerf" rumor. No, RNG is not getting nerfed. Nas is just bad with expressing what he meant when he said "see if you still want that bow on Monday". I expect most RNGs to like the changes.

This is horrible news for Rangers; particularly in experience/merit settings. Who the hell wants to chase a mob back and forth because the RNG has to stand at an appreciable distance for "optimal" damage.


Also, I find it hysterical the only one giving this "change" a thumbs up is Nabutso. The guy that will defend Nasomi no matter the case. White Knights are sad.

This is a flat out nerf for merit and XP situations, and a pretty big one. In merit parties basically everyone tanks. Which means RNG are now significantly less desirable for merit parties, because they will be doing less DPS in a merit situation. They were already only on par with other heavy DD jobs, so this is a nerf that serves no balance purposes. For a class that, just to be on the level as something like SAM, was already spending ~100k per merit party.

It's dumb. This isn't a situation where the class was broken like BST, and trying to act as if it is in any way positive and not a complete negative shows a lack of understanding of the class and how it is played.
