Level Sync in its original form looked absolutely terrible (I quit before its implementation) but level sync as we have it is pretty much the best of both worlds, although the population is very high there are still often gaps in level ranges which are easily filled via level sync without being so crazy as leveling an entire job in the dunes.
Sure you end up staying in certain areas longer than normal, but players still are still required to branch out and explore the world for different exp camps while keeping things flexible and accessible for players. A 10 level sync gap seems a happy medium, maybe it could even be reduced to let's say 5 if the population is much larger but for now it's one of the good quality of life differences this server has.
To be fair, when it was first implemented level synch didn't seem to change much. SE's servers (The ones I played on anyway) had a higher population than Nasomi may ever see. So the only time I synched way down was when I wanted to play with a friend that didn't have a higher level job or something of that nature.

You quoted me before I edited in that he wasnt wrong. If people want nasomi to revert rangers, just stop playing them. If theyre still worth playing, then play them. He generally sits on his throne thinking were all retarded and dont know what's wrong with his server, so generally it takes trends and actual statistics to change his mind. And when the same questions get asked over and over every stream, is nas really that wrong?
I feel the need to point out that Nas claims there are some 10 thousand active players on this server, and only 2 or 3 hundred were watching the last stream. I think it's been viewed 1880 times since as I'm writing this. So only a fraction of the playerbase sees those, repeat questions are more or less inevitable.

There are many very smart people who (seemingly genuinely) believe that RNG is fine and era accurate.
Which I find, personally, hysterical as someone who had RNG lvl’d to 75 around TOAU’s release in a good endgame shell, and the shit was hardly used at all for many reasons.
I understand everyone wants to keep abusing it, because it’s easy, but it’s really ridiculous.
I’m just curious if Nas actually believes it’s still broken or not.
I'm sorry you didn't level ranger until after Square Enix broke it, but your experience with a broken job does not mean that it was broken here.
Per Nasomi's 'about us' page:
Quote:
Welcome to Nasomi!
Nasomi is a free to play, non-official FFXI server based around the 2005 era of the game. We provide an old school style of play in the world of Vana'diel for players who want to re-live the nostalgia of 2005.
How ranger operated before Nasomi's changes is how ranger operated in the 2005 era. I.E. not broken. It's damned sure broken now though.
Edit: If we're now shooting for TOAU era, Nasomi probably ought to consider changing all that 'Party like it's 2005!/ 2005 era!' stuff. Cause it's quite misleading.
Edit2: And by 'we're' I mean Nasomi.
