I'm guessing you never ran a parser on retail.


THF can do fine damage (and in a random pickup group yeah they might be the best DD in there, same as a BLM), but if you were to compare two equally geared and skilled players, THF will lose against all of the heavy DD jobs quite handily.

THF doing better damage than a WAR, DRK, SAM, DRG, MNK, NIN, etc etc.

This just made my day. Thieves put a lot of stock into their once a minute shiny weaponskills yet fail to realize about every other jobs auto attacks being more damage than your bitch ass dancing edge.

Multiple THF, a NIN (or w/e with a voke.. polearm PLD?!) and a SMN or /SMN post-62 (with some outside heals, depending on mob) on some piercing-weak mobs is still good fun

Not gonna set any exp/hr records, but it sure beats trying to do a PUG of random struggle-bug DD’s and trying to set up a first-voke with some DRG/WAR that saps out all your Galka RDM’s MP before the mob even hits 90%... or trying to pull and placing mobs with sleep bolts only to find out that your Ranged Acc on exp mobs at point blank range is now roughly that of Michael J. Fox with a pistol at a thousand yards ever since the last update.. /sadpanda

PLing your own solo thf can make some gil and you don't need best of the best gear either; nothing you do on thf fucking matters as far as damage goes lmao

i leveled my alt's thief that way since i had the same idea as everyone else and don't regret it since i just sold all of my THF gear

just saying OP, level RDM like the other half of the server that isn't THF

LOL yea your right i never ran parsers I wasen't overly concerned with my exact damage to compare to everyone else. However I find it laughable you
think thf is not a good dd, if really well geared and able to SA TA correctly they are fine. Besides they may not be the best/perfect job but that
dosen't mean you shouldn't invite one. I get it, Brd/cor is the best. Other dds have an easy time to do great damage.

Thfs can also do really well especially against piercing weak mobs. Unless it's different from retail at 60+(which I think it is actually) then thfs have utility that most normal dds DONT
have. Playing with keeping hate on who ever you want using Ja's along with dding....that is a great benefit of having a thf in your party.

Are you aware that WAR, DRG, SAM can all use polearm? Also RNG is piercing. Both of these are much better than dagger. Even with the lower skill. But good try

Never ran parsers but you want to blab and gush about how comparable or -better- a THFs damage is compared to actual DD jobs.

You know who else is good against piercing weak mobs, every other job that can equip a spear. Or Rangers. Or Corsairs. Hell I'd probably invite a damn Paladin with a spear before I invited a thief.

What's the best utility in the game for XP parties? Killing the mob as fast as possible. If you're pulling slow enough that your 'utility' is relevant in a party (aka Trick Attack), against every mob you fight, your party is probably garbage anyway.

Recently found myself having to invite a thf. Checked AH history for who bought last cor knife out of 6 thfs seeking. Wasnt the highest rank but he would have won. Didnt make the pt anwyays cuz lolthf.

So what's the latest on Docomo? Is he still seeking / fishing in Qufim Island? Has he finally decided to rank up or level another job? Or did he just quit the server?

I had to /blist him. But like a crazy ex-girlfriend... I want to pull up her Instagram and see if she is still a train wreck, just for fun.
