Hey, nice job making some kind of progress. Hope you recruit a bunch of people. You guys might want to organize a FAQ that you can point people to. One able to be updated and either maintained on the wiki or forums would be a good place to start.

Yea my hours for now will be during the night hours, less people with issues but less help also. Will be nice to have various people around during all hours. Don't really care about the whole advisor thing, either way can contact us.

I respect the spirit of what you're trying to do, I just hope this doesn't lead to even more misinformation being put out on the server. Not all players' knowledge bases are created equal and unless I missed it, what you're doing has no check against that. Nabutso was great at tech support, but dear god his actual game knowledge left a lot to be desired and he would put out incorrect game information quite a bit.

I am not saying you or anyone else would be willingly or knowingly misleading people, but there is so much misinformation or priveleged information out there already that it could be a potential problem. Until/if that becomes a reality though, best of luck to you and anyone else doing this.

These are all great points. so Ill address them as best as I can

1) you do not need anyone's permission to log into naschat as "adviser-name". at the moment all "adviser" means is that you are there to answer questions to the best of your ability. it doesn't mean you have infinite knowledge just that you will help.

2) right now this isn't an official group of any kind. we aren't sponsored by nas, we aren't given special privileges. While I got Nas's blessing that organizing this and it's cool by him. We by no means are a part of the functioning of the Nas server. That's why it's completely voluntary.

3) miss information is an issue for sure. Just last night I had someone ask me 3 questions (2 account related, 1 in game quest related) I didn't know the answer to any of them. i told him that and then I helped him go through forums and wikis. Eventually I found a resolution to each problem just by looking at information already available. i would tell him to try things as I wasn't sure if that was the solution and if it didn't work we would try something else.

It's not all just giving directions. so far in my experience it's mostly searching out answers and doing a bit of hand holding until you've exhausted your ideas or one of your ideas works. If you just say "go do X Y Z and you're good" and they go do those things only to have the problem continue. you haven't really accomplished your goal.

4) the adviser title certainly helps draw people to you in naschat. I've noticed a marked difference in number of PMs I see when I leave naschat open since I added the title.

Oh I wasnt even thinking of the RNG debacle lol, I was referencing the 2 year track record before that. Most of those threads were deleted eventually after the BS in them got called out by half the forums.
