Currently, the only way to get zeni is by trading IS coins to the NPC. This will probably be reset when Nasomi launches ZNM IF they use Zeni. Take your chances.

Jettons and Zeni are not the same thing. You should be able to get Jettons by trading currency, Zeni is only obtained from soul plates.

My bad, it's been nearly a year and a half since I went out there and got them, totally forgot about Jettons vs Zeni.

I was able to get a Soultrapper/plates but wasn't able to take pictures. Please report if this has changed.
