A guy takes time to write a helpful article, especially for new players, and 3/4 of these posts are the same pricks that just trash talk literally everything on the forums.. hey maybe not EVERY single thing is 100% correct and maybe he didn't list EVERY single thing possibly known.. it very well may help some newer players that appreciate the guidance.

To be fair, the "helpful posts" are why warriors showing up to colibri and crawler camps with a gs happen because "i read on the forums all i need is to stack str and im good". Being somewhat correct still amounts to being wrong.

But this isnt retail, it's nasomi. It's an attempt at retail, but a lot of things are actually not exactly the same. Anyone wanting to help should be doing tests and more tests, then posting that data to compare with the old retail wiki articles. And then they should be updating the nasomi wiki with the "peer(forum) reviewed" information, if they want to actually help new players, or really any players.

Implying fSTR, secondary ws mods and the like arent totally cocked. A LOT of the retail dmg formulas aren't accurate here.

As a player that hasn't played FFXI back then I appreciate OP's post, though I am fully aware that Nasomi may have added his own salad dressing on those formulas.

This game is very unintuitive in that stacking "primary stats" (STR, DEX, etc) is most often not as good as stacking the derived stats you need, unlike say, D&D, where primary stats make everything tangibly better on your character sheet.

Oh I have a question! The elemental resistance stats on gear... do they work? Do they work well? Asking as a tank.
