Did some xp mnk/drg vs mnk/war, wasn't impressed, found no real difference in dps, take that for what you will.

I’ve got one more extremely niche case for /drg. Preface this with the fact that I have full pole arm merits since I’m mainly a drg. I did a boredom fueled experiment when I was leveling pld. With said polearm merits and a lance belt and wyvern earring I was able to penta thrust in krt. My numbers weren’t drg or sam good but I was able to out do most wars, and with the tools available to pld it didn’t feel any more dangerous than with /nin, even for my tiny taru ass.

/DRG is great before level 30 (/WAR10 gets Defense Bonus whereas /DRG10 gets Attack Bonus), but at level 30 you get Berserk from /WAR15.

At 75, I would only use /DRG for DRK zerging and PLD/DRG for Excal burning JoL.

We had other DPS use it on JoL too to shed a bit of hate occasionally with High Jump, but the benefit is debatable.

/drg is good for Ninjas with kraken clubs. Jump and high jump will give you nearly 50 TP from a good attack proc and deal and upwards of 1000 dmg depending on the mob's level. If you don't have KC, don't bother.

Just what caliber of warriors were you partying with? Warrior pentas should be incredibly good unless they're sucking on accuracy.

Can’t speak to the specific quality of warriors, some were good, some were not. It could have been my merits. Either way it was fun.

As a healer that's had to deal with people that don't sub nin, this is my suggestion. No, the extra damage you deal with another sub isn't worth becoming an MP sink. And you will become an MP sink because the mob will focus the one dealing the most damage and that is typically the one person that didn't sub nin.

The one exception is if you bring your 75 RDM or WHM alt to PL yourself. When someone has an alt in tow to heal themselves, I genuinely don't care what they do.

I’ve done a few runs as RNG/DRG for the hate-shedding (typically trying to time high jump for immediately after WS), and I seemed to die less often... but the 30% shed you get as a sub job seems a bit meh when you only have to fart in their general direction to be capped out on the enmity table again.

Enmity here feels all kinds of fucky compared to what my rose-tinted goggles tell me retail was like... it feels like VE doesn’t decay nearly fast enough, and that the total CE/VE cap is way too low.

This is how I've always felt about CE/VE on private servers based on DSP too. Hate has always felt slightly... off.
