As someone who was actively leveling it at the time the change happened I agree with Aeroo...I had lvl'd it from 1-61 in about 1-2 weeks at a pretty good pace. Invites were plenty and parties were enjoyable. Since the change when I flag it takes a long time to find a pt, normally I am the last DD invited to a PT now which says something. It's now the leftover class, the "well there's a thf, a bst, and a rng....might as well try the rng because we already have a thf" mentality now. The groups I have had are nowhere near as efficient. Yeah it would be really interesting to know just how much less Rng is getting played since this change...

If I were to take just a random guess I would say that maybe we would see a %59.97 decrease in Rangers seeking parties in the last month vs the month before the change. And again just guessing; that a Ranger seeking in the last month would have a flag up for an average of an hour and 5 minutes vs 45 minutes in the month before this change.

Also interesting that value of the E.Bow has fallen from 4mil to 1.180mil. Or a 70.5% drop in value.

So no matter what you think of this change it's clear that the Nasomi community has rejected playing as Rng and if you do try to play as Rng good luck getting a party. At least one of best bows is cheaper. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Also Kriegs was ~12mil before nerf and 2mil now so...ya, the prices of stuff dropping rapidly is also telling. I also hear crafters are suffering because less market for triumph/triumph+1

Still the same as before, currently 10 rangers online 4 of which are camping in the canal for the OWNM. It's quite sad the state of it, but that's how it is :(

What struck me about this new code was how married Nasomi seemed to it. A vastly unpopular and era inaccurate update, but when asked if he would consider rolling it back he responded with a chuckle and a resolute NO. He didn't show any interest in improving or reconsidering it. He hasn't really addressed the fallout from the update.

Did he spend so long writing the code its precious to him? Was there a bigger problem with RNG I wasn't aware of? What is the upside to leaving this in place? It hasn't created a more enjoyable experience for the players, so why stick with it?

I think the consensus was that in this same update he changed the mechanics of 1 handers, TP or delay or something I forget. He did some testing on ranger and felt the tp gain from being in melee range coupled with range spam would make rng OP. Think most people misunderstand feeling that rng was in a good place so why touch it when in reality if it was left alone post 1 hander update it might have been too strong.

Personal opinion is I doubt it. There were probably better ways to soft nerf the job to counterbalance the update.

If his issue was truly TP gain from swinging melee weapons, he could've just floored melee ACC or changed the levels the skills cap at. He went scorched earth, said it wasn't a nerf, then threw his hands in the air when everyone blew up about it nerfing the job into the ground. That was the patch I knew this isn't some Utopian-FFXI remake. It was the vision of one man who hardly listens to anyone actually playing on his server.

I agree. I wish there was a way to help communicate to him the priorities of content that should be worked on and released. His vision seems to be drifting this past year further away from what his actual player base wants.

Last couple updates have had pup but do a /sea all pup and there's literally 2. Why make that a priority?
