So I keep hearing about how leveling crafts past 60(or even 50?) is not worth it anymore. I would really like to level a craft to 100 at some point and I
am willing to put in the time and gil needed...IF it's not completely broken and impossible to do now. I have not brought a craft past 50 yet but I
would love to, it seems if you make a 3~5 levels higher recipe to skill up, the skills come in really well. However all I hear is it's a huge waste of time but if you can make high enough crafts shouldn't the skill ups still be good? If the case is you could level crafts to 100 before and now it's just not possible without 90 mil gil+..that would be incredibly disappointing.

it's pretty bad. obviously it's not impossible to do, but looking at it through a cost-benefit ratio, depending on what you're leveling and your grand ffxi plans, it very well may not be worth it.

you always want to stay 5 from recipe cap after support/gear if you can and its reasonable for maximum skillup rate.

I can tell you my experience as a new crafter , smithing currently 98 . 90 + it requires around 100-150 craft to gain 10 skills up ( 1 lv ) if u lucky , thats my average usually and yes it required me something like 30-40M spent to fet to this point and im

Also as Cilarn said dont even try to make recipe 1-2 gap ( unless u are forced ) the skill up is like 1 every xxxxxx , your best bet imo is 4 gap with 3 and 5 working as well

I would murder an entire family to get a level skilled on 100-150 synths.

seriously this, I got 0.1 total skillup on around 100 crafts of cursed soup (100) as a 95 cook and decided it wasn't worth it. I can't imagine what that would be like for a real craft, all I lost was hours and hours of time farming jellys and not millions of gold.

Same. I get around 0.1-0.2 at the moment with that amount of synths. It is redicilous. But it depends on the skill gap. In my case the item cap is only 1 level higher than my skill. So naturally that will result in a lower rate. But still even if the gap was higher to get a whole level with 100 synths.. I would be happy.

leveling crafts to 60 is easy, some might be more expensive when compared to the others but you also cannot get to 100 in most crafts without at least 1 60 sub so youre going to have to do it anyway. now the cost really comes into play at the higher levels, material costs get expensive fast. if youre a goldsmith or a blacksmith good luck, 90m wont be enough, but if you can get those to 100, youll aslo make a ton of gil as well.

at the higher levels, youll only be getting .1 skill ups every so often if youre lucky. expect a few hundred synths per 1 level if youre lucky, like others have stated already.

but i would say you can get most crafts to 60 with just a few million gil per 0-60 run, and some of them you can actually make money the whole way and they essentially become free. at 60+ is where ,for most crafts, the material costs and availability both sky rocket in price and plummet in availability which makes those few hundred synths for .1s at a time begins to hurt

cloth craft for example, i think the only way you get 100 is cursed dalmaticas? i could be wrong, im not a cc. so youre looking at 500k+ a synth along with a fierce competition for the materials which sell almost instantaneously

There's no point in getting 100 CC anymore, he implemented the mog storage GP +1 item. All level 99 CC'ers can do everything a level 100 can. Saved some of you millions!
