that would be the tell bell i was referring to. i keep forgetting that so many people don't have this turned on. absolutely do not fish semi-afk unless you have the sound turned up so that you can look at all tells.

in retail, GMs had (at least) two methods to check players. one was through tells. im surprised that's being used here, because it fell into disfavor when bot scripts learned how to respond to text going through the chat buffer. there is another method that used the dialog selection screen (the one we use when we select rewards, battlefields, and cutscene actions). that is considerably more difficult to script around, and it had the added benefit of disrupting the player's fishing without producing any error messages, which tends to alert only present players.
