I'd really like to have sync be opened up. I leveled my jobs with LSmates every chance I could get, and now my jobs are all 37-75. So for months now I see newer people playing the game, and I can't level with these LSmates because the jobs I play can't sync down to them. They are working subs, or starting out on their first job, and I can't participate with them. It'd be nice if you could play the game with the people you want to play with. I imagine leveling with them on their way to 75, but instead I just see them partying together, as I fish. Sadly, I know something good like the sync being opened will never happen.

Sounds like something that could be remedied by allowing 75's to sync to whatever level.

No one that is 75 wants to level in the dunes. End game camps are waaaay more efficient. Just let people who are already 75 sync down to whatever. It would essentially allow the 3/4 of the population that are already 75 to play with their friends sub jobs.

My friend doesn't want to level their BLM it just so happens to be the only thing in my sync range. At least let the 75s get merits while we PT.

Ummm...
I'm trying to...
This is crazy right?
If this isn't a crazy idea for reasons I don't immediately see, then yes, do this. I'd love to be able to do KRT on my drg again, not because it was better, just because it was fun. And with all the COR75 that exist, it would be easy to find a cor with this. The only problem I see is this, with unlimited jobs available who would ever settle for a low level thf or blm?
Also, I seriously doubt Nas would ever buy in.

This is assuming you'd have the only 75 drg pt syncd down to krt's 1 camp, or didn't mind waiting weeks for it to come open, or wanted to fight 2 other prs 24/7 and end up with only 3 bats per chain.

not a good idea to let a lv13 character sync exp all the way to merits before they leave the dunes. that's a noob factory

the low level exp areas, when encountered as a series of experiences, disciplined players for harder game play. let players skip that here and you're going to get way more idiots in endgame

At most I would raise it to 15 levels, but not beyond that. People regularly camp in:

Dunes: 12-20
Qufim: 20-24
Landing: 24-29
Bibiki: 29-33
Nest: 34-45, upstairs and downstairs
KRT: 50-55
Wajaom: 55-60
Thickets: 60-65
Mire: 65-75

These are all assuming you have a sync within 10 levels, and most nights, nearly all of these spots have parties going on. IMO 15 levels is more than generous, and may spark more interest in xp'n, but people need to not be lazy and start parties. Talk to people, be social, learn the game.

As someone that's played a bit on Eden, this definitely depends on your definition of "problem".

I don’t think people would sync to 75 in the dunes, you would need so many people to act as a sync, that it’d be a nightmare. Syncing is usually rougher on the people being lowered, as you fall behind in multiple skills. Other servers that allow sync aren’t having the problems of 75’s taking over the dunes by any means.

I personally want the level sync system to be less strict. Picture this scenario;

580 people online.
You're 5/6, need a sync, or <important role here>
You get the <important role> that is 14 levels off, because sync range is currently 15.
You start moving to camp.
601 people online, you can't sync as the sync is now 10.
Party disbands.

I've had this happen multiple times, and frankly it's fucking retarded.

Nasomi, this can be solved by moving to a system where every possible sync level has its own sync range. Calculate it based on how large a sync range is needed to /sea x number of non-afk players. This could give lv75 a narrow sync range while giving lower levels a wider range.

I brought a friend to the server around spring/early summer(2019), he pretty much quit because of the level sync gap, he played on Japan time and at best, the server was always a 10gap range. He quit because I couldn't party with him. The reason the sync gap exists is because of very small niche power pulling manaburn groups that existed in late 2016 that started pulling in popular xp camps(bibiki bay). These changes literally had nothing to do with stopping people from perma syncing and hitting 75 in the dunes. Instead of putting rules in place saying you can only claim x amount of mobs, he decided to put a sync range in place.

It had nothing to do with a growing population, stopping people from endlessly leveling in dunes. It had everything to do with stopping those power pulling manaburn parties by making them much harder to maintain when 75 blms could no longer sync to 15-30. I could name three people right now who you could probably pin blame on for the sync range being implemented on the server. 2 of them are banned, 1 rarely plays anymore outside from crafting here and there from what I understand.

Lol yes - I'm aware of why he did it.

Sometimes things have unintended consequences, that's for sure. People would do the manaburn parties today too, if given the opportunity. It's been brought up numerous times over the years about removing it, or lowering the limits, and everytime Nas has said the same thing.. That he thinks it's still necessary, and that the level ranges are already considerate of those that AFK/mule.

As for your friend, it's definitely true that the server doesn't work for all time zones... and it's also true that you can't just level with friends no matter what level they are. It definitely sounds like he'd like a different experience, and should probably go look for it. I trust that he plays on Eden with you now.. You're not supposed to just be able to party with 5 other people, no matter the level. You're supposed to go find 5 people that are around your level and XP.

I'd direct you to those that abuse the level sync bugs that we currently have to do the manburn parties today still. Making it even easier would just make it more common.

Once you hit around 30ish, finding a party isn't that bad at night time. There's a good bit of people that are 55+ doing pt's most of the time. I'm not sure how many people need to be online for the sync range to kick in to be 15 but it probably should be around 800 people?

Some people leave their clients logged in at night for different reasons, even both characters and a mule in jeuno. Maybe the sync range should be based off the number of jobs below 75 that are online compared to actual player base. 15 sync would definitely make things a little more smooth.

I do not agree with having level 75s in pt's with their buddys who are sync 30.
