This was a thing in retail (not an exploit) for those of us too poor to have multiple mule accounts...

I am quite sure the exploits that caused Nas to disable the dbox were much much worse than this one, just as an example of one thing that was going on, you used to be able to create a new mule in the appropriate city that matches your race... and then send the lvl1 starter ring to your Main that didn't have the ring due to starting in a non-racial city. Then you could delete the mule, create one in a different city, and keep sending rings til you had all 3 one on char.

Mostly meaningless and not a big deal, but you can imagine that if this was possible, there were much worse game-breaking exploits going on thru the dbox.

iirc the draw for dbox was being able to send items between characters on the same account. You don't have those (nor do you need them) here.

It's a useful feature that serves a purpose. Let's not pretend like it isn't or try to grasp for straws to justify why you don't need it - that's just sad.

Don't get me wrong, it would be ok to have dbox back, but when you get right down to it it's only a simple convenience whereas things like COR not having AF past legs since forever is downright disheartening.

Still missing BC60s and KS30s(ODS) but let's make a big deal about something that most of the player base wouldn't use if fixed.

Seriously, this. Asking for trivial things getting fixed that have no importance to the whole is getting annoying. It's content that we need. BCNM's, ENMs, KSNMs, and the "road map" that hasn't been touched in over a year now.
