I just find it absolutely hilarious how you've allowed Topshelf to live rent free in your head for so long despite not playing on Nasomi. Topshelf pretty much has a completely different roster of active players these days than it did a year ago, the roaster turnover from a year ago is huge. I've said it before and will say it again, I've run into more douchebags in 3 months on Eden than almost 5 years on Nasomi. There was a player named JenovaAbsolute that got so salty our group was out pulling his group in the dunes(he was plvling) he tried to claim lizards on his 75smn. The guy then followed us to the oasis and claimed a bunch of flies and ran around until a GM came out and shut it down. The next day, a guy named Tekadan did the same shit with a 72 bst in the dunes and literally started running his mouth in their discord, all we did was outpull his group and never came close to the 8 mob cap. There was a guy named Demonthief being a douche bag to leech farmers one morning threatening to come out and hold all the leeches on a higher level rdm because some dude didn't want to share a beach with him despite the onzozo beach being open. Now i'm not trying to say this sorta stuff doesn't or didn't happen on Nasomi. I'm just saying this stuff personally never happened to me in almost 5 years of playing on the server.
Now you would think during my time on Nasomi, rocking a Topshelf sack pearl, that people would have every reason to do some shit like that to me because of the reputation Topshelf has either fairly or unfairly accrued on Nasomi. I've done a ton of solo exp on Nasomi over the years, to the point where players in linkshells that hated my group just ran past me, not giving a shit about pulling that kinda stuff. Also, these are just a few of my experiences over there, on a completely different character name than the ones I use on Nasomi. The group I've been playing with on Eden is composed of people from both Nasomi and FFERA servers, some have had the same exact experiences in their short span on Eden as well.
One of my last experiences playing on Nasomi before my life got too busy to play was having a party in KRT, and TopShelf coming out and parking their party with 2 PLs right on top of us to steal mobs. When asked to move to another camp, their response was something along the lines of "just kill faster than us and you're cool, we're not breaking any rules" (we had no PLs). While technically true, it doesn't take a big brain to see what they were doing was an asshole move. There was another incident in the Dunes shortly after that involved hoarding lizards, but I don't recall the details of that incident. TopShelf didn't get the reputation is has out of thin air. When I was active, I was seeing some complaint about TopShelf several times weekly in NasChat and here on the forums.
I find it incredibly hard to believe you've not run into assholes on Nasomi in 5 years, because I've played here a long time as well and have run into many incidents of people just bring pricks while hiding under the "it isn't against the rules" banner. FFXI is competitive, I get that. But there's absolutely no reason to go out of your way to ruin the experience of other players, something TopShelf seemed to get satisfaction out of doing.
Hell, if that is not how TopShelf operates anymore, that's wonderful. I'm truly happy to hear that.
I can't attest to your time on Eden, because I haven't played there since their population boomed. All I have to go on is the contact I have with about half of dozen buddies who do currently play there.
We can sit here all day and go back and forth about which server has more shit heads. I've already acknowledged that I think the vast majority of Nasomi players are cool people just trying to have a fun time on a game we all love. I would imagine you have a similar thought process about Eden.
You're literally talking about a single person who hasn't played on the server in over a year and a half and attributing it to an entire group of players, the majority of which won't even know the individual I'm talking about right now. The exact counter to your retarded argument with deft about not labeling a whole group for that actions of a few, and in this case, one.
