Howdy folks

First.....YAY for an old school FFXI experience. This was my first MMO and I played for 7yrs before SE stopped caring about the american players as much as others.

Now, onto the issues....

I'm trying to get the window to actually fit my screen. I use a 37" television for my monitor and the first two Nasomi options are too larger and things are cut off. The third Nasomi is ok, and I can maximize to fit my screen, but whether I do that or not the text of everything is so small I can not read it.

I did see to manually change the window size and menu in Ashita before logging in, and I tried that and nothing. I COULD be doing something wrong I suppose.

Any help on this front would be awesome as I literally JUST started on the server less than an hour ago and it's enough of an issue I can't play.

Now, the second issue, mouse detection.

I've noticed when I go to click on an NPC and/or menu option that when I scroll over the option with my mouse and click it doesn't detect the mouse is there. Sometimes it works if I wiggle the mouse around beside/above/below the option or NPC but rarely.

It's making me have to tab target everything and then use the arrow keys to scroll through the options.

Is there a fix for this as I REALLY prefer using the mouse.

Thank You!!!!

Also, apologies if these are answered elsewhere. I scrolled through the pages in this section and didn't see what I was looking for according to the thread titles and the ones I entered into.

For your first question , try minimizing the "background" and "menu" resolution.
To do that go to Ashita , check the config you use , press the little "pencil" button , go to Window and there is where you can modify them. (and always have window mode on)

Tried that, in fact I tried lessening and increasing the resolution sizes of both and everything is still to small/blurry to read.

TY for the tip though!!

Edit one of the config's to suit your screen. If you're using a tv, chances are you want 1920x1080 screen resolution. Make sure your menu resolution has the same ratio as your window resolution, as well, or mouse stuff won't work. You may also want to check the unhook mouse option. You can make menu's bigger by decreasing the menu resolution, but maintaining hte same aspect ratio.

Try something like this:

Couldn't stand it, had to log back and try instead of my normal before work pattern.

For me, that's saying a LOT as I am a man of no variation in my pattern....lol

Currently sitting at 1280x1024 window resolution

Startup is -1 x -1

Background is 2200x2200 (not sure what that effects if anything for my problem)

And since Nasomi said the menu res had to be the same ratio as the window res.....

Menu is 1000 x800

Currently this fills my screen, the menus can be read, but I am still having the issue with the mouse not sensing properly no matter if I unhook mouse or not

Thank you!

I've run into this issue before as well, with both the menus/fonts being really small. It tends to happen when I use a different Ashita config than the last one I used successfully, which happens often as I have a laptop and don't always have a monitor available. The way I usually fix it is edit the config I'm trying to use and make the menu the same size as the resolution. Log in, then the font and menus are good. However, and this may only occur for me, but the game runs in very slight slow motion. To fix that, I go back into the config edit and change menu back to -1/-1. Then all issues are good to go until I need to use another config lol.
