History has not been kind to the Nasomi BST. In the past, it was used creatively and abusively to solo HNMs from Voluptuous Vivian to Behemoth. It was inevitable that it would be nerfed into the ground. Now the toothless debate is unfortunately about whether it was nerfed too much. The veteran BSTs have given up hope of returning to what Concepcion appropriately referred to as the golden era of BST on Nasomi.

You might find something advantageous about it, but please don't let that eclipse your love of the job. The running joke is that if you find something powerful about the job, assume that Soon™ it will be nerfed. The ability to charm and call pets is simply incomparable to other jobs, so you have to go with your gut, not with a utilitarian calculus.

Isn't there some nms that bst main can solo better than other jobs? Like when you need to charm tons of pets to kill a super strong NM.

If you are not dual boxing, yes.

If you are dual boxing, rdm and thf will be better in almost all cases. I can't really think of anything a BST can solo on Nas that would be better or safer than the rdm thf dualbox

I leveled BST as my first job to about 65, made 10s of millions of gil with it, it's better at farming mass amounts of EPs than my 72 Samurai was, etc

But if you wanna defeat the purpose of this server as being a place where you play the game like back in the day you can just cheese dual box like all the other manchildren who originally failed at being successful in OG retail and are now living the life by exploiting technicalities that are glitches/unenforced on Nasomi. If you do this, other jobs are probably more effective than BST
