When you're asked to join a party and you don't have a PL yourself. Don't ask for someone to do double the work so you can be lazy.

I asked a Rank 2 SAM this morning to exp. Mind you they probably didn't have the great gear since they're just starting out but that didn't matter to me.

They declined the invite because I didn't respond with "yes, I have a PL".

PL's shouldn't be expected, period. Stop being entitled.

I totally understand.. i think its the same Sam i asked.. "Do you have PL?" I dont even bother replying after that... really is Onepieceofshit....

I feel ya man. I PT'd in Bibiki Bay for the first time in almost a year with a normal setup. 9/10 parties here have 1~3 PL and it's been the norm lately. Way too much entitlement lately.

I assume that this does not apply to you, Maseki, but I want to say this to people in general:

I sometimes expect a PL. If someone is dualboxing in separate locations, I'm not cool with that. Either you dualbox at exp or you one-box old school. I've been through too many shitty players to let someone dualbox exp with one character doing something else. I know there are genius exceptions out there, but seriously, if I don't know you, don't try it with me because I'm going to start sending tells to the other party members when you get sloppy.

I suffered this guy in CN yesterday, I was the sole healer on my PL when this guy came in. Hasso + Third Eye when asked to be first voke for SATA. Terrible gear. Terrible damage. Sponged MP like crazy. Got lost on the way to camp, too, and I had to go and sneak him. 0/10 would not recommend.

He didn't ask me if I had PL when I sent him the invite, as I normally specify that I have a PL to motivate people to accept my invite. But when I saw this thread on the forums and realized it was him... geez. How can someone have such attitude while being so bad at the game? :S

Thankfully his name is easy to remember so I won't make the same mistake again.

Having a PL beyond Dunes and maybe Qufim is utterly unnecessary, and can lessen the experience for some players. Part of the fun for me is knowing how well we're doing as a group and individuals, which is very hard to tell when someone is soaking up 99% of the threat. Not to mention how boring it is to play WHM or RDM, invited just for -na's, haste and refresh. Bad party is bad PL or no, good party doesn't need one, and good party with PL is just overkill. Obviously, everyone dualboxing left and right leads to spoiling and expectations for 100k EXP/HR OR GTFO. Sure, bring your 75 RDM along, but use them passively and for emergencies. Less work for you and everything works out.

Sometimes I can see reasoning behind asking If they have a PL, in certain cases it will influence what sub I use or what jobs to invite. Doesn't sound like it was the case in your situation though.
