Hello, i have tried to use both a xbox one and a xbox 360 controller but in Gamepad Config no matter what I do when I go to test it is not recognized and nothing works.

Any idea how to fix this and get my controller working? All drivers are up to date.

(C:) > Program Files (x86) > PlayOnline > SquareEnix > FINAL FANTASY XI > ToolsUS > FFXiPadConfig

confirm that you are using this file path, there are three so you must use the correct one

Bought this because it's not only an Xinput(Xbox) but switchable to DirectX which is the old school driver style that FF11 was built along with. The difference being DirectX treats the lower triggers as buttons whereas Xinput they are triggers and thus non-programmable in FFConfig. Gives you 2 extra buttons to squeeze in all your Game Pad Config commands. And it's bluetooth wireless. 2 AAs so it can last a couple months of gaming. Just wish it were one of the "Unifying" branded ones. Have the solar powered K750 and M570 and since both are Unifying branded, they can use the same Bluetooth dongle.

Also, what Win are you using...up to date drivers installed via updates/automatic(ew) or direct from MS. ooooh heres something that I'd tried to use on a third party 360 controller that didn't fix the trigger/button issue...http://redcl0ud.fr.yuku.com/topic/1804#.VxUBkT_Ikik maybe? you don't really have enough information here.

You may wanna check this out instead of going through batteries every month, I've been using this original set for years in my mouse.

I have never had much luck with Xbox controllers. I am currently using a PS2 controller hooked to a JoyBox. But I also use a standard PC USB controller I picked up from the evil corporation Game Stop years ago for about $17 and it works well.

heh...yeah, once the original batteries I had died, i went Energizer Rechargables. Go a dozen or so AA and 8? AAA for random remotes and other things.
