Sorry, I know this is probably a tired topic to a lot of the usual posters here.

Did some runs yesterday of UO with some friends trying to get PCA for our melee jobs. We ran the tried and true NIN, RDM, NIN strat. We had some early fails due to people learning the fight, but as we tightened up the kiting section we ran into serious trouble in pushing through the NMs last 15-20% HP due to his healing tp spam. In research I had done before trying I've read many different opinions from different times in this server's development. I had some stuff I wanted to confirm, if you guys could help out:

2: I read in some posts from probably 2018 that ele wheel damage is gutted in that fight, which is one reason why the ninja strat isn't ideal on Nasomi.

1: I also read that after some recent patch(again 2018? 2019?) the NM now spams out his heals much more at the end of his HP bar.

So if someone with more recent experience successfully running this BCNM, what comp did you use/what comp do you recommend? I think we're going to try again with the same comp while trying to more efficiently pump the RDM mp into nuking when the NM gets lower. We're also thinking about switching one nin out for maybe a war or a drk to try to stun or save up a big WS to push through the heal spam. Feeling like we lost multiple times because of heal RNG has put us off our current strat a bit... But we do need PCAs.... so what's the solution guys?

The ninjutsu wheel damage is not nerfed at all. This fight is the only time theyre actually of any use. The catharsis spam can be a pain but ive never seen it actually make anyone wipe or run out of time. Use the rdm to deal any damage they can as well(use convert too) at the end and the 2 ninjas or blus really should have no trouble downing it even if it spams catharsis for a while. It's also pretty easy to set up a wide enough triangle for the 3 people to stand around the sobbing eyes at the end so that you wont catch each others breakgas and you should only get 1 petrified person at a time.

Do the nins have to sync up their nukes on the final eye? We definitely had 3 or 4 times where the ninjutsu damage plus a little rdm nuke damage was not enough to get through the heals. Do you need +int gear or something?

If your struggling take a SMN instead of RDM. Makes dpsing through the last 20% or so super easy.

Yes, you should use INT gear

It's also incredibly beneficial for your nins if they learn how to properly turn around and get a round of melee swings in after the eyes do TP moves. With enough practice and the timing right, they won't ever get paralyzed and the mobs will die twice as fast.

smn > rdm (using carby mitts) can also throw out ifrit and do some pretty strong bp's when both eyes are dead.

blu are also super strong if you take medicine that can give full MP.

nin works fine. i prefer nin/rdm over blm since it gives fast cast trait.

also bst + nin or blu with smn seemed to be the best combo when I ran it.

Tried another set of runs today with int accessories and parfaits and it was night and day. Thank you so much Conception and everyone else for the tips. We got 1 peacock so far, so I got my fingers crossed that Christmas will come for me as well!

If it's of any benefit, you can do that one pretty easily with 3 BST as well. Going /whm is handy for paralyna. I've only ever wiped or failed to win due to catastrophic stupidity of other players with that setup. One big complication can be if the sobbing eyes casts breakga right off the bat and then your pet gets pummeled. The teleporting pet thing really helps (just make sure you're about 40' away when you hit heel), so take advantage of that.

Don't go with Aeroo or you'll never get one.
