Nins need a thf? For what? To keep hate for the burst of 30 seconds that a fight takes if you're talking about an exp party? Shouldn't have hate management problems by voking and swinging katanas in quest/mission scenario unless the group you're rolling with are idiots. Certainly shouldn't be talking about mobs who are melee resistant if were talking exp pts and you wouldn't be kiting anything in an exp pt either unless your group is wiping and youre attempting not to join them. Gaze attacks are easily dodged by turning away from a mob that does such things anytime you see it using tp. And the only mobs that you'd be exping on that do this are lizards. Taurus Mortal Ray is very easily dodged by turning around for CoP stuff. And if you were backward tanking and nuking lizards in my exp pt, I'd kick you out. There is no scenario, other than these eyes, that ninja nukes outdamage katanas. The debuff spells are cool. But if you aren't dual boxing a rdm you really aren't doing a whole lot more with a ninja solo just because you can do some debuffs.
YOU ARE A SILLY PERSON:https://youtu.be/Xs4ASUVpkpgNow, I'm no math wiz, but it appears that by utilizing the wheel, our damage output doubles, cutting engagement time directly in half.

NIN needs a THF when the NIN is inexperienced, cheap, lazy, or a combination of all three. Not playing the job correctly is why your hard-hitting DD's are forced to /NIN. Not using its max potential drastically reduces damage output by all members of the party. This game is littered with mobs that spontaneously become immune to melee or magic, are resistant to either/or, and in the case of backward-tanking, I assure you
shit doesn't sometimes happen, never costing you your life due to unnecessary risks. I guess UO NIN's should just face the mob, stack remedies, and cross their fingers?
Kiting in an EXP party? What in the sam hell? In the case of chaining IT mobs in less than 30 seconds, well congratulations, you've got a decent party. With the exception of late-game levels, where traditional party mechanics go straight out the window, you're not tanking 99% of the time, doing the least amount of damage, and soon realize you're a 5th wheel; (pardon the pun). What turns chain 5's into chain 105's is
USING THE GODDAMN WHEEL.
Few things:
1. Your ACC in the second fight is near 100%, and you missed repeatedly in the first fight. I'm guessing you got two beetles that were different levels though, or just some RNG.
2. You definitely might be able to kill things you can solo faster by using the wheel. I think Aeroo was talking about group activities, because.. as usual, no one gives a fuck what you do solo. Mobs you're fighting in an XP party are MUCH more likely to resist NIN nukes.
3. Your damage might literally increase in a party if you use wheel in between attacks (it's probably pretty close, but whatever.. We can say it does), that just doesn't mean you need to at all. pre-Jin, NIN is just there to first voke a mob and keep hate as long as they can. The other melee sub NIN because parties have realized it's significantly faster to have only one mage to heal and 4 melee /NIN... and it is. NIN doesn't need a THF.. basically ever. None of the scenarios you mentioned mean a NIN needs a THF, unless your XP party sucks otherwise... and if that's the case, the first thing I'd look at is the inclusion of the THF.
If you want to have a subpar XP party, and include things like a BLM or a THF.. Great! That's not the type of party that Aeroo is talking about. Knock yourself out. You can definitely come up with ways to force yourself into situations where using the elemental wheel is useful. He was merely saying that it's really easy to avoid those situations, and that in normal situations that people on Nasomi strive for.. its not really needed, outside of this fight.
I leveled NIN in the 60s with full mgc set and I did really good damage. It was a lot of fun. It was mostly out of boredom though, and it definitely wasn't better than just going full damage set.
