That video is extremely skewed for a variety of reasons. You're trying to argue you "kill twice as fast" with the Ele Wheel, but you're killing mobs in a setup that favors nukes over melee, that is, without brd or cor buffs present. Once either (or, ideally, both) of those are present, katanas start to pick up. And if you want to argue exping or doing any content without brd or cor, then I have nothing left to say to you, except have a good day. This is in addition to the already mentioned use of att+acc food, instead of plain acc food.
In conclusion, Ele Wheel is a very nice tool, but it’s not the end-all, be-all you’re making it out to be. It has its uses and its drawbacks, and it takes a mature NIN to understand when and where to use it properly.
I was going to spend a few hours picking this apart, doing another video with BRD and NIN, using pizza over sushi, but there's no point. Do you know why that is? Because everyone that's argued with me here is
missing the point. My only contention with Aeroo's statement, which he ultimately agreed with, is that he stated, "
NIN nukes are useless outside of this fight". He was wrong about trash mobs
and event mobs outside of UO. You yourself are agreeing with me too, and arguing against things I never said, for what reason I don't know.
BRD's and COR's on tap? Please, show me your personal reservoir, at least where EXP is concerned. If you won't grind without them, then, wouldn't that negate the EXP/hr you might have gained from their presence? Maybe you have an LS that has sync mules on each job specifically for this purpose, but most of us aren't that fortunate.
You and Wolf/(Starbright? I don't know, I've never been banned in my career. Never been dumb enough to risk everything for short term gain.), seem to think that every grind party is made of pure gold, that the best I've experienced is 5k/hr in a mere 15 years playing this game. Again, you may grind with only your LS mates, and never encounter a shitty player or two dragging things down. Trust me, if I could pull a great setup right out of my ass at any moment I chose, I'd definitely do it. But, reality says otherwise. Great is awesome, and good is good enough.
And for the record, I will take a good BLM over a couple of mediocre SAM's any day. Hell, I'll take a good BLM over a
good SAM, and whatever you think about that is irrelevant to me. And we
are not discussing more
Captain Obvious things like yOu LiKe bLm oN cOliBri aNd uSe wHeEl oN cOliBri hUrR!!! Yes, so there's 5 levels on ToAU mobs where using them isn't the best idea. Which, ironically, leads me back around to my original point that the wheel provides a useful option where a particular mob is resistant to either magic or melee.
