Not exactly the same, and I understand your point, but that hardly makes exploiting it okay. That said, this bug makes PLD unplayable because any use of WS would be exploiting - of course - PLD could just play like RNG right now and not use WS at all...

You shouldn't be taking advantage of the bug anywhere, regardless of how much or how little benefit you get from abusing it.

We've got a standing order in RFK to not make use of the bug.

If crafting was giving out increased skill rates, and I was going to level crafting anyways.. I doubt ya'll would be so understanding.

It's whatever. Who cares at this point... but obviously if you know something is broke, and then you go do something that takes advantage of that broken thing? People are going to bitch about it.. it's how it works.

I get that because it was my people in the video there is more scrutiny on those people, but searching a few zones seems to show that many others are going about their business as if this broken shit doesn't exist. I've asked that no one pops anything as there is a non zero chance that there is a roll back and going out of your way to abuse the mechanic would be problematic, but I don't think the onus is on any single person to stop playing the game because of Nasomi's update. I'm not going to call out anyone by name, but currently there are people in sea, sky, and limbus that are all capable of using shields for WSs, therefore based on Pipz criteria of going about your day, they must be exploiting.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that folks exploiting the WS bug to farm sea are the ONLY people exploiting, just that they ARE people who are exploiting. I don't think the onus is on anyone to stop playing the game, but I do think the onus is on everyone who knows about an exploit to refrain from using it or risk getting jailed in the process. This isn't a #nasomithings change from retail, this is an obvious bug.

Folks who go do one or two WS without knowing about the bug don't fall into this category, even if those WS were used on an HNM, so long as they don't continue to abuse it.



Just because jobs are capable of using shields doesn't mean they are using shields. Having the ability to wear a shield is not an exploit. Wearing a shield is not an exploit. Wearing a shield with the knowledge that it will cause you to do extra damage, then proceeding to do that extra damage... that's an exploit. Some of the folks in sea, sky, and limbus (and even exp/merit parties) are likely exploiting and deserve jail right alongside any of your folks that were abusing it.

If you can go about your day without abusing an exploit, go for it. If there's no way you can do your planned event without abusing an exploit, then either change your plans or recognize that you are exploiting the game and putting your character at risk.

I don't have any evidence they were in sea doing anything wrong. When I woke up this morning no one was in sea from my ls. They went to sea to farm, but other than Pipz saying they were exploiting up there I don't know what was being done that was out of the ordinary. Did Pipz follow them or did he just search for them and assume? I don't even know who "they" are. Nasomi said he was watching so we'll see what happens.
