Thank you for posting this. I used to play classic retail way back in the day. I came back to this only because of lockdown. A few weeks into playing and suddenly exp is changed. Mobs that are EP have killed me multiple times, and when I’ve barely survived, I only get 23 exp? The game got very frustrating all of a sudden, so I haven’t really played for the last week.

I meannnnn, if low exp in starter zones is their main complaint they aren't going to have any more luck on Eden, it's about the same/worse for leveling jobs 1-10 lol. Abysmally slow without an exp ring

Because the mobs in Kuftal have been off since before I got here and they still are to this day? You're not supposed to have 10+ worms that aggro sound near PW spawn, at most 4-6, and they aren't supposed to aggro. The fact that mobs now enter the water is a welcome change to me.

Forgot: My point about exp rings is they haven't been active for any extended period of time on this server until recently. To expect that to be the new normal is kind of foolish.


Having the ring turned off occasionally when EP/DC/EM mobs were legitimate ways of exping when outside of a group was alright. Having it turned off and nerfing the exp tables, while also making exp camps less convenient just seems a bit forceful. The fact I think that doesnt mean I don't think the Kuftal situation shouldnt also be fixed, just like anything else on the server.

Regarding the ban, regardless of the reasons, it means Nasomi is well aware of the bug. Witty comments about him pointing things out as being features aside, I'm pretty sure the guy knows fully well how much of a problem this is if he's aware of it, especially given what has been going down since it was implemented. Don't get me wrong, I'm just irritated as the next guy about what this servers gets wrong, but getting offensive about it with other players won't make matter any better.

I'm done discussing this topic. I just wanted to make a post because I've seen peoples be legitimately upset about the ring going away despite the severe exp nerfs, but no post on the forums. And given the fact, as you said, that Nasomi does read the forum, pointing this out made sense to me.

I've done the new Valkurm camps twice recently (working on dual maat caps, fml), and they're barely changed from before. The safe spots are still safe, and the spots where you would frequently have lizards link are now closer to a goblin, but you were dumb if you were camping in those spots without a PL before. The only really annoying change is some of the lizards path off into the distance for no discernible reason so you're more likely to drop chain, but even still, the Dunes are so damn short that you're in for at most an afternoon of slight inconvenience.

I'm not a fan of the EP/DC mob change. I've got 1 more job to do 1-12 on on Cthalupa, one three that are at 8 or 9, and 10(!) more jobs to do it on on Twopa, so I've gotta deal with that shitty grind quite a bit. Really wishing I had just sat down over a couple of weekends, unlocked every job for both chars, and taken them all to 12. Regretting it hard now.

But it's also sort of whatever - I did do that grind on retail, and XP ring cooldowns in era didn't work like they do on Nas. You couldn't burn through a whole ring in a day - they had a 16 hour cooldown. You basically got one charge a day.

To a server run by people with a history of getting their shit shutdown, where HNMLS all have GMs in them, and instead of being secure enough in themselves to just turn off unlimited range level sync, had to implemented weird mob pull caps and anti-PL measure to try and stop people from leveling 10-75 in Valkurm Dunes?

Was no need to mess with the current exp table. This is not an Era accurate server. If he wants to use exp rings to throw us a bone ever so often, he should just keep the table. No one was complaining or had an issue with the set up. Its one of the things that I actually enjoyed. It set this server apart from Eden for me. Its silly I know, but its just a little perk that Nasomi had that made it fun for those with little time. To me, I dont understand why he doenst test this stuff first. This past patch messed up more than it helped

Exp rings not working. EP mobs are harder with less exp. Leveling 1-12 is too SLOW, getting average 30-50 exp per kill. Not liking this at all.

EM mobs about the same difficulty, more exp. Problem is you can fight an EM mob, lvl up and now its EP and 36 exp. Lmfao
