Not saying should be like retail but in general you want to make things a little easier on the new players as a server ages so that they can catch up.

If you guys are complaining for the lv 1-12 journey( something that takes few hours!) in FFXI you simply playing the wrong game .. FFXIV is still out there for your information

To be fair I think this is why you would see people partying up in the dunes at level 10. Which I have done on this server. Very doable and stops the 10-12 which is the stupid grind especially now.

While I do understand and like that ffxi is a game of slow progression and grind(I gridned to 99 on the original ff7 demo disk), I would think that before we took something meaningless as exp value of mobs down a notch, we should of granted exp rings. For some, days where you can log on and just solo a little is just as fun as those days you have 5 hours to party. When so much of this server is ooe, I fail to see the need to make this change. I'm not seeing the gain for doing this. As for myself I have just adjusted to fight more EM or tough mobs on the days I don't feel like dealing with parties, but I have an alt to support that. So it really didn't do much to me, but I can totally understand the frustration from new players.

New players are something that we tend to not embrace as much we should. It wasn't hard on me at all to progress here, much easier than it was in retail for sure. I'd like it if it was like that for everyone and again, I don't really understand the need for this change.
