with what settings? I can't get it to work right.. it doesn't recognize the right stick and the buttons are all whack.

You have to set up the controller with the ffxi config program.
DONT FORGET to enable xinput on the right hand side.

C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ToolsUS\FFXiPadConfig.exe

ive played using the number pad in the "full keyboard" mode for years. but lately its been hurting my wrist.

now i play with the PS4 controler using sonys usb wireless adaptor

I am using an xbox one controller, it works fine. Look at my last post in this thread where I explain how to set up the controller.

i had an issue getting my analog sticks to work on the ps4 controller. in the gamepad config, resetting to default settings solved the issue for me. not sure if its the same problem youre having with the xbone controller
