If there is a grid of afk characters 10 yalms apart in every direction in the zone, can thieves no longer drop agro with hide?

The MPK rules on this server suck. There is a big difference between running a train to a poor random somewhere, and spawning a dangerous mob in a high level zone and seeing it kill someone. This instance seems intentional to me since he could have ran more than 6 seconds with flee up to hide and he only engaged after seeing it kill Chess and his alt but there is certainly some gray area regarding intent and MPK.

Sounds like you have everything to gain and nothing to lose if you post the information, meanwhile nas doesn't care either way, so it seems pointless to withhold the information for any reason other than to create drama, or you don't actually have said screenshots.

I do have something to lose: my only piece of evidence that nas hasn't seen. Nas has never had a conversation with me about it, but yes it seems like he doesn't care, although he's never acknowledged me directly, probably on purpose to keep me on the ropes for drama.

He does have conversations with dupers and actual cheaters who have completely screwed the balance of his server and created countless hours of work, yet doesn't give the time of day to many legit players with grievances (see naschat and support forums). I don't blame him for taking orders from TS and taking a glance at a screenshot and making a quick decision without considering any possible context. He's one person. And to him, I probably seemed all the more guilty because I was initially asking to be unbanned for an entirely different reason.

All I'm asking for is the acknowledgment that anyone AFKing in an aggro zone is not dependent on others to keep them alive or adjust their gameplay in any way. If that's the case, then I am free. Seems like a very simple rule that is standard in FFXI etiquette.

Woah, Nas actually updated the rules?!

Disruptive Behavior
• Any action that deliberately causes a monster to attack another player character, or MPK-related action. Unless that player is AFK then you can kill them. Shouldn't have been AFK if they didn't want to get MPK'd lol.

If this rule change is retroactive you might be able to get your account back!

People crash HNM zones, dupe relics, millions of gil, and don't get touched for months, effectively obliterating the server. Yet I was banned within 24 hours from a selectively framed screenshot at the request of someone who puts USD value on Gaiters and threatens user's families.

Let me be clear, I don't think just because he did that justified me watching him die to Despot, however, him being AFK and dying in an aggressive spawn area does not light a fire in me to save him.

Does threatening someone's family not count as harassment?

Nas has a rule that says he can do whatever he wants at his discretion, so how much do they really matter?

Was Chess in any immediate danger when you zoned in?
No.

Did your actions (spawning Despot) ultimately end up in Chess dying, with you doing nothing to prevent it?
Yes.

You created a situation knowing full well what would happen, and you let it play out rather than trying to prevent it. That's MPK.

Yes. He was afk in an aggressive NM spawn area.

The fact is, if someone spawned despot who wasn't a KC/relic player, and did exactly what I did, nothing would've happened.

So by that logic spawning anything that could kill some is MPK? What about LoO when you kill a PH then let the next one auto someone instead of killing it and they are afk is that also considered MPK then?
