How long is this event to last?

Between work, life, etc., I cant put in the time to go all out on this event.

In hoping I can get the 100 at least.

This isn't content, this is an event. If people would stop cheating for 5 minutes I'd be able to crank out content a whole lot faster.

Really hate to be that dude, that has to inject a dose of reality. But there was that huge list of names of cheaters from retail, and those same names are littered all over Nasomi server. They don't even pretend they aren't the same people, rather they brag about it... when called out by the community with adequate proof being presented to the forums (it's not like it has to be proof beyond reasonable doubt on a private server you completely control), they spend endless time responding that they know all too well about said cheats from retail days, but swear to their mommies that they ain't cheating "this time". Then after often MONTHS of ruining the economy and having clear proof with screenshot Discord conversations from other players in good standing with no reason to lie, somehow it finally rises to the level of a ban by you, and they tell you to your face they will simply re-roll. And cheater after cheater has done exactly that, only to continue cheating after making a new character. How and why exactly you don't automatically institute the veiled threat you made recently of a 'hidden bad luck' effect where all stats are -100, they get instant one-shot when any mob attacks them, and no mobs will ever drop gil or items from their kills - personally I just don't understand.

Don't take this criticism to imply I don't appreciate the server you run, I really do love the time I've spent here reliving the glory days of original retail. But I can think of nothing more demoralizing for the majority of the playerbase, than to know that you can progress to Sky/Sea/Dynamis and obtain quite a bit, yet if one even steps near the HNM scene it is apparent within weeks/months that you are surrounded by scum constantly using hacks, illegal addons to help claim, stuff like Organizer to give a huge advantage on time to a NM pop, running parsers, crashing zones constantly. Even the small time I invested in minor camps at Faf and Adamantoise left me feeling like I had wadded thru slime just being near these EGLS's, and anyone pretending on the forums that this stuff doesn't go on is quite simply lying... one only has to be present in their Discords for a small amount of time to be disabused of the notions of fair and honest play.

Find a way to make it not worth their while to do those actions, or let it continue as is, I guess. But asking cheaters that have been cheating for more than a decade, to stop cheating... is literally like spitting into a rainstorm. If they weren't worried about the consequences on retail, they surely won't be worried about them on a completely free private server. Hope I didn't ruin your holiday cheer with my 2 cents, Happy New Year Mr. Nasomi.

I like to think that nasomi won’t just hit the ban button on someone when we scream about it on the forums is the same reason why I only play on this server.

You might hate that, and yes it makes cheaters harder to ban and they do get to stick around longer. At the end of the day though, if you didn’t do anything cheatsie your not getting sent to prison. Man makes 100% sure you fucked up. The few cases he pulled a trigger on someone and they didn’t deserve it they were promptly released.

Now go play on another server and tell a GM to suck your dick. No matter how much I tell this man to eat shit he won’t ban me.

So yeah. It sucks, but I’m not going to get SJW banned for calling someone a retard for acting like a retard.

You do have a point, but at the same time... I had an IRL friend that got sent to Mordion. Back when (I believe) Nasomi took a trip out of the country, pretty sure he put in place some automatic system that would jail people on certain conditions, although I don't know what might trigger it. All I do know is he was a brand new player to FFXI, was in the lvl20's, and was on the way to Palborough Mines on a chocobo to start hunting for his first key needed for Kazham access. Zoned into Mines while still on choco, blackscreened.... tried to relog the game, and found himself in jail. Since English is not his first language, being from Cuba originally, I offered to sit in Naschat along with him, and we spent days trying to get help from Nas. He eventually gave up on the server, to quit ffxi and never come back. Much later when Nasomi finally reviewed the logs or whatever proof he uses to decide jailing issues, my friend's character was released from Mordion. Just a little too little and a little too late, to save the enjoyment of gaming with a true friend.

So please, let's not pretend that everyone that gets jailed actually did something wrong, and also don't pretend that Nasomi couldn't choose to ban a little quicker on those players that seem to have tons of 'smoke' around them, even if Court-of-Law proof of the fire isn't obtainable. Absolutely no one is asking him to ban instantly with no reason, but everyone under the sun seemed to know for months about cheaters like Zigma, Ascar, etc etc... and I really didn't see in your response exactly what level of proof you think he should require before taking some kind of action. He's in many ways the God of the server, he can troll people, used to nuke players for fun, can change their names or race, but he for some reason isn't allowed to decide the cheaters are running too rampant and willingly choose to lower his standard for proof a little in order to clean out the scum?

Trust me man, I want Nasomi to have just a good experience running the server as we do playing on it. If these cheaters are ruining our gaming experience along with causing him endless frustration, why not simply get the proof on said cheaters, don't ban them or warn them, and simply ruin their character stats so badly that they won't want to play and no one will play with them? Take off the ability to delete the character, and if they reroll to another name let their huge ego eventually spill the beans to enough players to realize they are a reoccurring cheat coming back to haunt us, and Nasomi can be warned and he can ruin that new character as well.

I would hope you don't truly believe that an intelligent person could come up with clever ways to make these cheater's lives and efforts much harder than it would be worth to risk the small pp greed their gluttonous low IQ personalities crave for a measure of validation. Imagine having to cheat for digital items on a free server, that isn't even hard in most respects just time consuming...
