I agree wholeheartedly. Even though Nasomi has a lot on his plate as is and I haven't always agreed with every decision of his, he absolutely needs to be the only one allowed to make decisions about the server. Players with a stake in progression will tilt things to their own advantage, like boosting their own jobs ahead of others, or making events that they have already completed harder. It takes some humility to realize that.

Good luck with your programming ventures. I'd say thanks for what you've done so far... if I had any idea what that is, lol.

Hello Dead,

it makes me sad to see you leave the server. I really hope, and i think im not alone, we will see you again ingame in the future
even if it's only for saying Hi :).

I wasnt able to log in the last 2-3 weeks due to my new job and organizing RL. So i don't really have any info about your decision
else from the forum post. Nevertheless it was a pleasure to have you as a leader and to be with you in Alpha. Again, thx for letting
me join the LS and for the opportunite to develop as a player in HNM business.

Guess we will always remember you when new code is introduced and we find out while fighting stuff :D

Will endgame content be your sole focus of development?

If other stuff is on the plate, are you open to suggestions/code to help flesh out stuff that is not working correctly?

Have fun coding! It sounds like a lot of work and a lot of fun ;p

Don't pressure him Kal! He has to finish coding ENMs and the rest of CoP Endgame before he can take suggestions.

I will be doing 75 cap endgame only. I also don't get to just make it up as I go along; every single change I make is based on how it was on retail.

Any suggestions or other code contributions should go to Nas. He welcomes player input and functional code contributions. There may be a lag period of weeks or months before it makes it into production. This is simply a byproduct of him having to do several people's jobs with only so many hours per week etc.

Thanks for wishing me luck. In a perfect world it would just work already and we could all go have a good time. Era endgame on DSP seems fairly stagnant over the past year though, so if it's going to be done it looks more and more like I have to do it. Most endgame veterans don't have coding experience, and most developers aren't endgame veterans. I've got enough crossover to make it work.

Thank you also for the goodbye wishes from my shell and others. I got several goodbye tells in Dynamis Jeuno from various people in all shells and I was very touched. Logging out Consortium today brought a tear to my eye. Several months after my project is complete and everyone is accustomed to real XI endgame, I may feel comfortable jumping back into the mix (as I will no longer have "inside" information). Till then, good hunting.

Just want to put it out there, Muffin is awesome for the finds he's finding in the coding differences between DSP and retail. Muffin's been hard at work testing things out and submitting his findings to DSP.

Deadwing,

It was random that I ended up finding Nasomi, and wanting to play FFXI again. It was even more random that people playing on Naomi were still as in love with the game as I was. It felt like I was starting over at the best point in this games retail life. Thanks everyone that has had a part in making Nasomi happen.

I am beyond excited to see what happens with the endgame content that you are working on, and as I get higher in level I hope I can be of assistance in testing or balancing things. By your previous posts it is clear that you have always been trying to make this game better for the community on Nasomi. By doing so you, and Nasomi have helped make the game that we all love a reality, and I salute you for taking the bull by the horns and coding all day so that we all may reap the benefits. Hopefully you can get back in game sooner rather than later, though I believe you will have just as much fun making this game epic as you did claiming Nidhog and Aspid in the same day : )
