Anyone else feel especially with these lvl sync ranges that we have quite enough people on this server right now? Not to be a downer on new people but it's getting crowded 'round here.

Would definitely be better if we didn't get another wave for a month or two.

It's pretty rough leveling a healer since everyone can get a free alt. So about everyone has to essentially level WHM up through subjobs levels...

No -- in retail there was 2,000-3,000 on during the eras we are trying to replicate. I don't know what the "right" amount is for 2018 in Nasomi, but I don't think we've maxed out yet.

If he’d go back to a flat 20 lvl sync range I’d agree with you.

While I get your point, we're already finding ourselves at a 10 sync basically permanently for most people's playtime on the server. It doesn't scale any lower.. So if it's going to be 800 people online with 10 sync.. I'd prefer it be 1800 people online with 10 sync, but that's me.

If past year's trends repeat, once summer starts we'll experience a major decline in activity as nicer weather sets in and people remember that the outside world exists.

This would have already started around the end of Feb but instead we've continued to peak every week since then all the way now through May. Finally it's finals week, or nearly, for most, so we might see the first non-peak this week.

There will be no summer dip this year. We've hit critical mass.

IDK, if Twitch brought in enough underage kids, I don't think Summer will die down at all...

I disagree, we need a constant influx of hundreds of people. That way they outnumber the PL alts. The trick is for people to move out of the dunes and on to qufim, kazham, CN, etc. I think more people setting their HP in jeuno would go a long way for that. People seem to make large jumps, like dunes 12-28, then kazham 28-40. It's easier to make a more natural progression. I've done 3 jobs 1-60 in the past 6 months going strict 12-20 dunes, 20-24 qufim, 24-32 kazham, 32-46 CN. It is much more comfortable that way, and there's honestly never been a problem finding parties.

That way there will be room for all the parties. The sync range limitation helps immensely with this. Imagine what the dunes would look like without sync restriction. Even if the exp was penalized for every level beyond 10 levels, the dunes population wouldn't be 100, it would be 200+.

This is right. It sucks for the 55+ crowd, like really sucks. But a smaller sync range makes people who'd stay in the "hot spots" spread out due to the inability to party there. But most people quit before they get to 50-55 anyways, so things will only get worse for the later levels.

Maybe, but even more important right now is that more of these new players progress into the 40-65 range. This server has always been extraordinarily bottom heavy and still is. Nas has has been working hard and the early game he's built is working great, but something has been causing most players to quit before or around reaching later levels. BCNMs back in will def help, but the nostalgia wears off and the hard grind kicks in, and perhaps once there are more players in that range, the complaints might reveal the balance issues, lack of camp issues, or bugs that have been keeping people from staying. Demand on many low level items is currently sky rocketing too. Without more established newer players to craft and supply this new influx, the economy is going to discourage new players too.

I wouldn't mind crafting if I could use /lastsync :P But honestly it never really was that bad. There is ALWAYS a place you can farm EPs while waiting for another party, which should also be making you gil at the same time. Granted it isn't going to be the 10-15k xp an hour. Most likely 5k an hour but still 4-5k an hour is better than doing nothing. Even WHM can hammer it up on some EPs are kill them quick since monsters on Nasomi stay EP longer than on retail.
