To follow up: there isn't even consensus among players demanding a buff about how much BLM should be buffed. If Aeroo is to be believed, current BLM is only slightly below how he recalls era BLM to be - meanwhile other posters insist that 1/8th resist MBs should literally not be able to happen. This is why gathering hard, indisputable evidence is important. If buffs were just handed out to BLM without any attempt to understand ToAU data then all that happens is the melee whiners come out of the woodwork and moan that BLMs are overbuffed and taking "their spot" in parties. Then all the people who believe BLM wasn't buffed ENOUGH come crawling back to the forums whining about how underpowered BLM continue to be. Buffing BLM blindly literally solves nothing when looking at the big picture.

The discrepancy there is aeroo is fully merited and bis nuking set, not a BLM leveling up. Also most of the time on higher end content, BLM gets a corsair.

Aeroo would not say BLM is working fine, lol. He's merely saying that buffing BLM directly to fix all of our problems would turn his BLM into a literal god.

Edit: Which I actually agree with. I think the buffs should probably be to the INT/MDB of mobs in the 25-70 range, rather than to BLM's directly. But meh. We'll have to wait and see what Nas decides to do eventually.

Once again shifting culpability away from yourself. You're not nearly as helpless as you make yourself out to be.

I’m not going to do something we all know would be pointless just to appease some new troll. Sorry.

Eventually, Nas will decide to take another crack at whatever he feels the best method is for balancing BLM. If, at that point, Nas decides for the first time in a very long time that he would like help... he knows of dozens of veterans that would drop everything they have to spend countless hours to get him whatever information he’d like.

You could probably just make your sig, “I’m new here!” And it’d be plenty.

Was thinking it may be an issue with INT scaling.

Seems to me it was a funky tiered structure in retail... as we got higher levels it took more and more dINT to maintain the same percentage of boost... something like a 3:1 ratio or something by the time it hit cLevel 99 (thankfully I got out as iLevel came into play). At some point we had no choice but to contemplate foregoing INT for straight MACC as a compromise to nix the increased resist rates to preserve output over time versus maxing the potential output per individual cast.

If Nasomi was running a more linear function, that may well have made it OP as hell at 70+. So that may well be the key to balancing it... working out a tiering structure for dINT and all that screwy crud SE loved to do.

The premise of this thread is asking for changes to BLM now. That's the topic of conversation. Please don't try to put words in my mouth about what this conversation is even about.

I didn't put words in your mouth.. I put them in mine.

No posts are about getting fixes "now". We're discussing it now, and hoping that Nas finds this post when he decides to prioritize these fixes. Seems like you're learning about how this server works lately.

It'd be dope if he decided to do it now, but this post or our feelings about whether it should be now, or are really not relevant to Nas's timeline. I doubt Nas is considering fixing BLM while working on rolling out ToAU.

I'm sorry if you created your own premise for this thread, and then spent 13 pages arguing about it, but it might explain why literally everyone else thinks you're insane.

I think you should take the words out of your mouth. By that I mean never post again.

Again, I must ask - why are you blaming Nasomi for this? No one seems to have the real data to truly compare the 2008 data set with what is presently live. Why are you insisting it's Nasomi's problem? Do you truly expect Nasomi to put in hours of work testing BLM when you and your group of "dozens of veterans that would drop everything they have to spend countless hours to get him whatever information he’d like" flatly refuse to do even 3 hours of work now?

I've addressed the dynamics at play here - that Nasomi is a hobbyist, not a team of games makers trying to sell you a product. Why are you treating Nasomi as if they are Square Enix?
