I know people on retail who 3boxxed everything. I paid for 2 accounts on retail at times so that I could 2box.
You're going to lose this fight based on that alone.

People hacked and botted on retail too, that doesn't make it okay here, this isn't an argument for it whatsoever.

How about the person who has the two characters took the time and effort to level two characters to a high enough level to claim and kill said mobs therefore they've earned the right to do so. Using your own logic, do they not deserve more claims as a result seeing as they put more effort into the game compared to the person that only leveled a single character? And as long as it's not against the rules and they're not breaking any further rules, then more power to them.
Also, the "playing the game as intended" stuff doesn't hold water here. Again, this isn't retail. This server is built and maintained around Nasomi's vision, not retail. If you want the retail experience, then there's always retail.
Nasomi's vision is a Pre-ToAU FFXI.
And no, this is implying that just because someone put work into something that's not within the vision, they deserve to keep it. This was recently proven wrong with the future removal of people's charity easy mode ZNM items getting taken away.
Leveling a separate character has perks in itself that don't require 2 accounts played at the same time to reap. If you truly believe that someone who leveled another character deserves double the claims, then someone with 5 75 jobs should just have a voke range 5x the distance. This is silly. One human player 'deserves' one player's worth of claims. Those second characters were PLed 1-75 by themselves and were not as difficult to level as their first, and no matter how many level 75 jobs you have, you're only meant to be on one at a time. With a voke cookdown of 30 seconds, able to hold claim on one mob at a time.
Going by the original rules, dual boxing is not in Nasomi's vision, but it seems like much like him adding ToAU, enough people bitch about it and he'll let things slide.
Simply, I'm calling out people's idea of how the game is meant to be played. Nasomi recently let you all know that the free items you didn't actually work for isn't in his vision, even though you did it. FFXI was meant to be played in a single session on a single character and that cannot be argued in any way. Has it been in retail? For the most part, back in the era this server is meant to emulate, yes. Has it been since then? No. That's the issue. A game is created and balanced with a certain set of rules in mind, and dual boxing skews all those rules and brings in a bunch of issues that are unintended which is why you cannot log into 2 characters at once without taking advantage of loopholes.
If dual boxing is okay because you 'put in the time to level 2 characters,' why isn't 6-boxing okay? You put in the time to level 6 characters.
Let's take poker for example. Is it fair to team up with another player and share cards? Yeah, you both put in the money, together twice as much. But now you can manipulate raises to bully other players out. Now you can count cards much easier. I have an ace and a 2. An ace shows up on the flop. Looking decent. But your second guy you're coordinating with has an Ace and a King. All of a sudden you have an advantage you shouldn't have.
