I see your BG "rng nerf incomming" and raise you "1 year after the ranger nerfs". https://www.bluegartr.com/threads/38958 ... was-nerfed NAS THINK OF THE CRAFTERS

How did you arrive at that conclusion? Every ranger here has more or less had the same complaint: positioning. It has >nothing< to do with melee, TP, or even damage for that matter.

As a ranged class Ranger should be able to stand where it makes the most tactical sense, anywhere between point blank and it's maximum range. Not pinned in this weird ass no man's land of 9 to 14 yalms, where you're either constantly making melee chase the mob (or outside range of the healer), or ground zero for every AoE attack in the game.

Out of all the ranges to make a 'sweet spot' for, SE (and now Nasomi) literally chose the range that makes the least sense. Remove player agency, force them to stand within a shitty distance window, then act like those aren't legitimate complaints when players bring this up. Makes sense.

How about this, let's add this component to Blackmage? They're a ranged job, sweet spots are interesting. They could have a different one for each element! Could be tons of fun watching them shift around trying to find maximum damage for each element!

No? Terrible idea? So what makes it a good one for Ranger? The fact that SE did it, and couldn't swallow their pride and undo it until years later?

You think Nas will ever swallow his pride and admit it's a mistake and change it? I just put all my Ranger gear into storage and would love to dust them off down the road.

Omg the first post in this is amazing and truly sums up Ranger right now on our server:

Today, it's amazing to see the differences compared to a year ago. No longer invited to meripo, dead last on job-based priority systems, and invite rates similar to DRG, it's no wonder that there are ~30 rangers on at any given time compared to ~130 last year.

I did a /sea all ranger last night and there were 18 people on Ranger. I really hope Nas actually takes notice of how he destroyed a job because he absolutely did.

13 on the AH, not a single one has sold since 3/1. No one is going to buy that thing anymore. I bought mine 2 days before the nerf and now it sits in my mog house.

I'd buy one for around 500k. Hit me up if that interests someone.

Not willing to go much higher.

It really sucks for Eurytos Bow owners, but before level 75 it's totally not worth 3 million gil when a 80k War Bow +1 already does enough damage to pull aggro and annoy your party. It's not like you can shoot when you solo anymore, outside of a shadowbound foe every 5 minutes.

Wolf's 500k price tag sounds far more reasonable, I'd consider it too.

This is already happening. People dumped 150+ stacks of scorpion quivers onto AH within 48 hours of the nerf and crashed the price from 38k > ~25k overnight in order to try and salvage material costs. Steel and silver bullets also essentially just stopped selling. The level 22-50 bullets and the inexpensive bolts dropped a smidge in volume but have otherwise remained stable so far... people gotta pull...

Yeah expect the markets to continue to crash, most Rangers that I know are retiring the job. There won't be much demand for ranged ammo besides for pulling purposes.

All these people speaking of Eurytos' Bow crashing price. I'm just sitting here with my Anni. I think I'll turn it into a pipe ala Cheech & Chong.
