I can't speak for everyone. It obviously depends on whether you are a motivated seller. A group selling a KC is probably more interested in liquidating it for the gil then a crafter.
Not to mention, crafting has a cost that goes into the price. If you make a 300k synth, and the HQ chance is 5%... It's fairly simple to determine what the minimum you should sell an item for, at least. Time invested, like doing OWNMs, doesn't have a quantifiable cost.
I get the comparison, but it's not as neat as people would like to believe.
Again.. I think you, as a seller, gets to determine what cost you're willing to accept and how long you're willing to wait to get that price.. and what the relation is between those, and when one of them changes.
That's just entirely independent of the buyer's same decisions that go into a transaction. It's basically the basics of the economic system we have. When we're talking about these super expensive items though, the pool of prospective buyers is finite... so just writing off someone that is willing to pay more than 99% of people in the game for an item? It's a negotiation.
I'd give more validity to half of these offers/conversations if I didn't feel they were entirely made up to undermine the prices of these items because certain people know they'll only ever be in the position of buying said item, never selling them. (I have confirmation that this is being done by some.) I don't take offense to the offers if they're legit, and I don't wanna step on people's toes who genuinely think the offer their making is valid. I'm also not dumb and can tell the difference between the two.
I don't mean to shit on Camper's offer either, or ruin his chances of getting a cheaper one somewhere out there. I do feel like I have a vested offer in the price of this item tho, so I will defend it with arguments that I deem to be valid. To compare a similar situation where Im in the opposite scenario, I've been waiting for Jemima to lower the price of their Cap -1, or even answer one of my offers. They haven't. Should I be all up in arms that they're not taking what I deem to be a legit offer? Maybe. Does it matter? No.
