Been seeking for over a week on my thief at 60+, didn't really feel like levelling other job, really only got SIX(6) party invites in a WEEK? Really? I'm rank 2(I don't plan to go any higher until i'm 75 and ready to start sky). So does rank matter this much to NA player that you're so blinded by that you don't want to invite someone whos rank 2? Rank does not determined the players skill or his wealth. I probably out gear 95% of the newer player in the 60 range, heck i'll even say I am better gear than most fresh 75. What's the point of me having like 6mil in thief gear If i can't even get a party invite?
I'm not complaining about the fact of no party, cause I've fish like 2mil since seeking. I'm complaining about the fact that people base you on your in game rank to determind your wealth or skill which is utterly fucking stupid.
This was NEVER the case even with JP players on retail lol, being rank 2 didn't stop you from getting groups. There was always invite no matter what job you played and retail server was way more crowded than here.
I would absolutely invite a rank 2 60+ last, if at all, and the reason is the mindset in the statement I bolded above. Even on retail I would sort the list of seeking 60+ DDs first by eliminating underleveled subjobs, followed by eliminating anyone under rank 5. Something to consider is that the one thing that will never be "era" here is the playerbase. The influence of more modern MMOs which treat everything before endgame as a pointless slog (which you can skip with $$$, of course!) has impacted the way a lot of people play.
I always see people say "Oh well rank2 vs rank 5 isn't a big difference," or "nin 14 vs nin 28 isn't a big deal," and they always miss the point. It's not about the stats from your subjob or you ability to ride airships, it's how it reflects on you as a player. If I see someone who is 60+ and rank, I think they most likely fall into one of these categories:
A) Too lazy, they will do it at 75 (players like this often treat their gear the same way)
B) Unable to get groups (Really easy mission here, can be trio'd or even fewer, maybe a bigger issue with the player)
C) Don't really know much about the game (Pass)
When you /sea all 60-70 inv, all you see are their names, races (no elvaan, galkas #1 priority for mining pts only), and their rank. Of course people will say "Well, there are 5 thfs searching, I will pick the one who I think has the best chance of not being bad based on the info I have."
